Choosing a school for your children is a big decision. There are over 1,000 K-12 education options in Miami, FL. A daunting number to choose from. Happily, there are lots of resources we can use to help us navigate through the options.

Today I am going to review what most Miamians and Niche.com agree is the BEST private school in Miami, FL.

Ransom Everglades School is a 6-12, co-ed college preparatory school located in the upscale Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, FL. The school’s upper campus is located on Biscayne Bay giving students not only gorgeous views of the bay, but also crew, kayaking and an impressive marine science program.

Ransom Everglades School is based on an “Experiential Learning” educational philosophy. In other words, students learn by doing. There are many hands-on programs offered including theater, science labs, humanities, Spanish, and the afore mentioned marine science on Biscayne Bay. The curriculum is a mix of tradition and innovation and integrates across disciplines. Students are challenged to think outside the box, seek different perspectives, collaborate, and defend their work. Students are given opportunities to expand on their interests with progressive programs like the Ransom Everglades Symposium on Energy and Climate Change, the Ransom Everglades Business Plan Challenge and their Fellowship on Humanities plus a new STEM Center was unveiled in 2020 with state-of-the-art technology.

A well-rounded education wouldn’t be complete without foreign languages, this is after all Miami. Ransom Everglades understands the importance of being prepared for the ever-growing global citizen concept and as such provides students a robust language program. All students take Spanish AND a second foreign language of choice from Chinese, French and Portuguese.

Academics isn’t all the school offers. There are 50 clubs and programs and 76 sports to choose from including golf, lacrosse, crew, sailing, and an aquatic center for swimming and water polo.

The school boasts an impressive 100% graduation rate and prepares its students to continue their education with their college counseling program. Graduates move on to schools like Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Yale, Carnegie Melon and so on.

But all this amazing education goodness doesn’t come cheap. Ransom Everglades has one of the highest, maybe the highest tuition rate in Miami, FL at a whopping $43,420. If affording the tuition is a concern, then you will be happy to know that Ransom Everglades School offers a generous financial aid program, with the average student grant at $34,200. 19% of the student body receives financial aid and a student’s financial circumstances are not considered during admission.
